Richard C. McMahon

cda Ventures LLC was launched in 2015 as a platform to provide early stage start-up, scale-up and maturing businesses access to senior executive experience to grow and transform their businesses.  After departing corporate roles, Mr. McMahon recognized through his work with various accelerator groups that many many companies lacked the depth and experience in their teams or could not afford to hire the high-priced consultants to create pretty presentations.  cda Ventures was born to provide those capabilities more affordably and targeted where the help is needed most. 

Prior to cda Ventures LLC, Mr. McMahon spent 17 years at Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. and held various con-current positions including Chief Strategy Officer & VP Corporate Operations, Chairman - Bed Bath & Beyond Mexico S de RL, President -  Bed Bath & Beyond Canada LLC and 

President - Linen Holdings.  Mr. McMahon was responsible for driving all strategic growth initiatives for all brand companies within the Bed Bath & Beyond family including Bed Bath & Beyond, buy buy BABY, Harmon FaceValues, Christmas Tree Shops, AndThat!, Cost Plus World Market and Linen Holdings (Harbor Linen, TY Group). Bed Bath & Beyond expanded 11-fold reaching roughly $11+billion in sales with approximately 1,500 stores covering 5 retail concepts, International and Institutional businesses during this period.  

During his tenure at Bed Bath & Beyond, Mr. McMahon launched and successfully grew various businesses including all digital properties (online, in-store, mobile, social), International and an Institutional Sales business ("Linen Holdings") which focused on serving hotels, cruise-ship lines, hospitals, assisted living facilities and related segments while concurrently leading and managing operational functions including information technology, supply chain, business development, college and more.  Mr. McMahon  led efforts supporting the acquisition of its' many brands conducting business reviews, due diligence and negotiating legal and transactional components of various deals.   

Prior to Bed Bath & Beyond, Mr. McMahon worked at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP in increasing roles and responsibilities servicing retail and non-retail clients until he was appointed Partner in Summer 1998. Mr. McMahon specialized in large-scale, transformative process and information technology initiatives. Prior to joining KPMG Peat Marwick LLP, Mr. McMahon held positions at Philip Morris Companies Inc. and The First Boston Corporation. 

Mr. McMahon received his B.S. Business Administration from Seton Hall University with a concentration on Management Information Systems and currently sits on Seton Hall's Board of Regents (Executive,  Finance, Investment, Advancement and Athletic committees).
